The short version: Gimme A Second collects nothing about you. There is no account, no sign-in, and no personal information of any kind. The app has no analytics and no telemetry — it never reports your activity back to us, because there is no “us” server to report to. To play the game, the app fetches song previews and cover art from Apple’s iTunes Search service; those requests go directly from your device to Apple. Your stats and preferences live only on your device.
Information we collect

None. Gimme A Second does not require an account and does not collect personal information. We do not ask for — or receive — your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location, photos, or any other personally identifiable information. We do not link anything to your Apple ID, your device ID, your advertising identifier, or any other identifier that could be used to recognize you.

No analytics, no telemetry, no tracking

The app contains no analytics SDKs, no third-party tracking, and no usage telemetry. It does not count your taps, log which songs you guess, or send any record of how you play back to us or to anyone else. We do not operate a server that receives data from the app, and there is nothing to opt out of because there is nothing being sent.

Information stored on your device

Your game data — things like your current streak, your best-ever streak, your one-second wins, and the bands or mixes you’ve picked — is stored locally on your device using the operating system’s standard on-device storage. This information never leaves your device, is never transmitted to us, and is removed when you delete the app.

Apple iTunes Search service

Gimme A Second is a music game, so it needs to find songs to play. When you search for an artist, build a mix, or hear a snippet, the app queries Apple’s iTunes Search API to retrieve matching artists, song titles, 30-second audio previews, and album artwork. These requests are made directly from your device to Apple. We do not sit in the middle of those requests, and we do not receive, store, or log them. Apple’s handling of any technical information (such as your IP address) involved in serving those requests is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy.

Information we do not collect Contacting support

If you choose to email us through our support page or directly at lex@lexfriedman.com, we will of course see your email address and the content of your message. We use that information only to respond to you. We do not add you to any mailing list and we do not share your email with anyone.

Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

We never collect or maintain information from those we actually know are under 13, and no part of the app is structured to attract anyone under 13.

California Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

We comply with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. We do not distribute personal information to outside parties — primarily because we don’t collect any to begin with.

Information for European Union users

Because Gimme A Second does not collect personal data, GDPR data-subject requests (access, deletion, portability) would return nothing about you. Any non-personal, on-device information stays on your device.

International transfers of information

To the extent the app communicates with Apple’s iTunes Search service, that information may be processed, stored, and used outside of the country in which you are located. Data privacy laws vary across jurisdictions, and different laws may apply depending on where information is processed, stored, or used.

Changes to this policy

Although most changes are likely to be minor, Gimme A Second may change this Privacy Policy from time to time, at our sole discretion. Your continued use of the app after any change in this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such change. The “Effective” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
